Lunch Balances
Students may accumulate a negative balance in their food service account used to purchase food in the cafeteria at school by getting a school lunch without having any funds in their account. We allow charges because we feel it is important that students not be denied access to a meal during the school day.
We ask that parents remit negative balance amounts as soon as possible. Carrying negative balances is not acceptable and we are committed to working with all participants to return student lunch accounts to zero or positive balances. Until this negative balance is resolved, the student will only be allowed to purchase a full school lunch, a milk, or a water. No other a-la-carte options will be available for purchase (even with cash) by students with a negative food service account balance.
We urge you to take advantage of our prepayment plan as money put on account may be used in the cafeteria at any time. We offer payment online through www.myschoolbucks.com where you can schedule recurring payments or automatic payments based on your child's balance.
If you would prefer to send payments to school with your child, checks are the most secure way to transport payment between home and school. Checks can be made payable to EWG Lunch Program. When sending payment, please include your child's name and student ID number (if you know it, it is listed in the Parent Portal in Aspen) in the memo line of the check and on the envelope.
We understand that there may be unfortunate situations where your child may need to charge a meal, but we require accounts to be brought current as soon as possible. We also understand that financial circumstances may change as the year goes on, so we like to remind parents that free and reduced price meal applications may be submitted at any time during the school year.
