Dear friends and partners- Over the past few days we’ve all come to an understanding of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 crisis and the impact it’s having in Rhode Island, the country and the world. As we become better informed on how the virus spreads and the importance of “social distancing”, we need to recognize the important role each and every one of us, even the young and healthy, has to play and the responsibility we all have to heed the advice of our governor and the CDC, for the sake of EVERYONE in our community. We want to acknowledge and thank our state leaders, especially Governor Raimondo, Dept. of Health Director Alexander-Scott and Education Commissioner Infante-Greene, and their staffs for working tirelessly to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 (this particular strain of COronaVIrus Disease, which first showed up in 2019) and for developing plans for a possible extended period of school closure. School administrators, educators and food service staff are also committed to the health and welfare of all students and the larger school community. Plans are being finalized to provide food in communities where many students rely on school meals. See below for the details as we have them today.
